From verdant rainforests and tranquil lakes to the thrilling savannahs and mist-covered mountains, this journey is designed for wildlife enthusiasts, cultural explorers, and those looking for a truly immersive Ugandan experience.
Your journey begins upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, where you’ll be greeted by your Kamiigo guide. After a warm welcome, enjoy a scenic drive to your hotel for rest and recovery. In the evening, enjoy an optional dinner overlooking the shores of Lake Victoria, with views of the sun setting over the water.
After breakfast, journey to Kibale Forest National Park, renowned for its chimpanzee trekking. Along the way, witness the stunning countryside of Uganda, with rolling hills, traditional villages, and rich flora and fauna. In the evening, arrive at your lodge nestled in the forest, where you can unwind and enjoy dinner.
Today is dedicated to an exciting chimpanzee trekking adventure. Guided by expert trackers, you'll hike through the lush forest, encountering our closest primate relatives in their natural habitat. This immersive experience also includes other wildlife sightings such as baboons, monkeys, and a variety of birds. In the afternoon, you’ll explore the nearby Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a paradise for birdwatchers.
Set off to Semuliki National Park, known for its hot springs, forested landscapes, and rich biodiversity. Explore the park on a guided nature walk, witnessing the unique flora and fauna that make it a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. You’ll also have the opportunity to visit the Batwa Pygmy communities, learning about their ancient forest traditions.
Next, drive to the famed Queen Elizabeth National Park, a haven for wildlife and one of Uganda’s most popular safari destinations. Over the next two days, enjoy game drives where you’ll encounter lions, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, and a variety of antelopes. A boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel will reveal crocodiles, hippos, and hundreds of bird species. The park’s diverse ecosystems provide a rich safari experience.
Today, head to the Ishasha sector, where the famous tree-climbing lions reside. Enjoy a game drive through this less-explored part of Queen Elizabeth National Park, spotting these unique lions lounging on fig trees. The sector is also home to other fascinating wildlife, including Uganda kob, warthogs, and a wide range of bird species.
Depart for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, Uganda’s iconic destination for gorilla trekking. The next two days will be spent trekking through the dense, mist-covered forest to find the endangered mountain gorillas. Your guide will ensure a safe and educational trek as you get up-close with these magnificent creatures in their natural environment. The experience is both humbling and awe-inspiring.
After your gorilla experience, journey to Lake Bunyonyi, a serene and picturesque destination often referred to as the “Lake of a Thousand Islands.” Spend the day relaxing by the lake, enjoy a boat ride to explore the islands, and visit some of the local villages for a taste of Ugandan culture.
Drive to Murchison Falls National Park, one of Uganda’s most renowned wildlife areas. The park is home to the powerful Murchison Falls, where the Nile River surges through a narrow gorge with dramatic force. Embark on a morning game drive to spot elephants, lions, and giraffes, followed by a boat safari along the Nile to the base of the falls, where you'll encounter crocodiles and hippos.
After breakfast, you will begin your journey back to Entebbe, where your memorable 12-day safari adventure concludes.
